Several years ago, we began installing nest boxes across the estate. It was a simple decision rooted in a practical belief that if suitable habitat is limited, we can help provide it.

 

Today, owl boxes overlook quiet grass margins and woodland edges. Smaller nest boxes are positioned within sheltered areas to support songbirds that thrive in managed woodland. Each is inspected annually, cleaned and monitored throughout the breeding season.

 

Over time we have seen increasing occupancy and successful fledging. These results matter. They demonstrate that active gamekeeping and conservation are not opposing forces. They can operate together, strengthening bird populations across the estate.

 

The bird box programme is not a headline initiative. It is steady, consistent work. That is often where the real difference lies.
